The 25th International Conference on Screening for Lung Cancer

The broadest mission of these Conferences is collective pursuit of understanding of the issues surrounding early diagnosis and early treatment of lung cancer. The focus of the Early Lung Cancer Action Program (ELCAP), which evolved into the International (I)-ELCAP, has always been on practice-relevant research. The key result of the NLST (National Lung Screening Trial) has now made the practice of the screening a timely concern, using a state-of-the-art regimen so as to minimize unnecessary workup and surgery. Practice naturally will produce data for further research and development of the screening process.
